30.06.2009-(XXVIth Colloquium of Danubian Countries on Natural and Artificial Ageing of Polymers)
The EWS conference is jointly organized in Budapest by GUS and the Hungarian Academy of Sciences
Launched in 1967 by four relevant institutes from Austria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Yugoslavia, the Colloquia of Danubian Countries have been the only exclusive meetings in the field of natural and artificial weathering of polymers for more than 40 years. In the new form as EWS it has attracted a broader scope of attendees.
In the tradition of these colloquia, the EWS is a meeting point for experts from industry and academia to learn from each other. The EWS will be organised by the German Society for Environmental Engineering GUS in behalf of the Confederation of European Environmental Engineering Societies.
Before the opening of the conference, a half day training course is being offered: Effects of Moisture in the Course of Weathering.

General Information
The Confederation of European Environmental Engineering Societies CEEES is proud to continue with the European Weathering Symposia EWS the tradition of the Colloquia of Danubian Countries on natural and artificial ageing of polymers, which were launched in 1967 by four relevant institutes from Austria, Czechoslovakia, Hungary and Yugoslavia. For more than 40 years the Colloquia of Danubian Countries have been the only independent meetings – meanwhile Europe-wide - in the field of natural and artificial weathering of polymers. In the tradition of these colloquia the EWS is a meeting point for a limited number of experts from industry and academy to learn from each other.
The EWS is planning a strong link between the similar international conferences or Symposia in Japan, International Weathering Symposium (every 3 to 4 years) and in the USA International Symposium on Service Life Prediction of Polymers (every 2 to 3 years), but also to the other CEEES Symposia organised by the national societies for environmental engineering (www.ceees.org).
